We’re seeking a Staff Attorney in our Legal & Risk Management Services department to provide timely and exceptional legal services to Mercyhealth and its affiliates, particularly in the areas of regulatory and contract law.
This position works collaboratively as a member of our Legal & Risk Management Services department and:
• Provides legal services and support related to the licensure, accreditation, and certification of Mercyhealth and its affiliates.
• Reviews and drafts contracts and legal documents as assigned.
• Conducts contract negotiations as needed.
• Serves on assigned Mercyhealth committees.
• Assists the Vice President of Legal Affairs/General Counsel and managing Assistant General Counsel with legal projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualified candidates must be licensed to practice law in the State of Wisconsin or Illinois; possess knowledge of health law matters including federal and state laws, hospital and health care regulations; and knowledge of legal aspects of contracts agreement negotiations, practices, and structures.
Regular attendance is an essential requirement of the position. The Staff Attorney must be available for emergencies during non-business hours by phone or e-mail, except during authorized absences such as vacations or illnesses, and participates in the department’s call schedule.
