    Dillon J. Ambrose, Marquette 2002, a litigation shareholder with Davis & Kuel-thau s.c., Milwaukee, has been promoted to the rank of commander in the U.S. Navy Reserve. Commander Ambrose is a drilling reservist in the U.S. Navy Reserve JAG Corps, serving his reserve commitment as the deputy staff judge advocate of the Reserve Component Command Great Lakes.

    Leah CameronLeah Cameron, Marquette 2017 cum laude, has joined Kasdorf, Lewis, & Swietlik S.C., Milwaukee, as an associate focusing on civil litigation and insurance defense.

    Jerry R. DeMaio, U.W. 2001, has been appointed an administrative law judge for the U.S. Department of Labor, sitting in Boston, Mass.

    Kody S. GarzaKody S. Garza, Marquette 2013, has joined Gabert, Williams, Konz & Lawrynk LLP, Appleton, as an associate and focuses on general civil work and litigation.

    Nicholas D. Burkett, Marquette 2017, and Matthew S. Stock, Marquette 2012, have joined Gerbers Law S.C., Green Bay. Burkett represents businesses and individuals in a variety of matters and practice areas, including banking, commercial, and real estate transactions. Stock focuses on business and litigation.

    John P. KreuserJohn P. Kreuser, Marquette 2017, has joined the labor and employment law firm of Hynes & Kuhn S.C., Elm Grove, and practices primarily in employment discrimination law in state and federal administrative agencies and courts. He also handles issues relating to severance packages, noncompete agreements, employee discipline, performance improvement plans, and other employment law matters.

    Michael R. LaingMichael R. Laing, Marquette 2017, has joined Perkins Coie LLP’s Madison office in the patent litigation practice group.

    Reince Priebus, Miami 1998, is returning to Michael Best & Friedrich LLP as president and chief strategist and chair of the board of advisors for Michael Best Strategies LLC, the firm’s government relations and public affairs group. Priebus also is joining the Washington Speakers Bureau as one of its exclusive speakers. He previously was White House chief of staff for President Donald Trump and worked for Michael Best for more than a decade until 2011.

    Juscha E.M. Robinson, Michigan 2003, has joined Pines Bach LLP, Madison, as a partner in the firm’s real estate, estate planning and administration, and business law practices. He previously was a partner at Herrick & Kasdorf LLP and, before going into private practice, was an associate director at Tenant Resource Center Inc. and an attorney at AIDS Network Inc.

    Seven new associates have joined Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren s.c. in its Milwaukee office.

    Daniel J. Balk III, Marquette 2017 cum laude, Rebecca M. Lindstrom, Marquette 2011, and Christopher (CJ) C. Rundell, Marquette 2016 magna cum laude,are with the health care practice. Lindstrom previously was an associate in the Chicago office of a Los Angeles-based Am Law 100 firm, where she represented clients primarily in health care, general tort, employment and labor, and insurance coverage issues. Rundell previously was an associate at a Milwaukee-area law firm.

    Karyn J. Durkin, Marquette 2017 cum laude, is with the employee benefits practice. Sara McNamara, Marquette 2017 magna cum laude, is with the banking/bankruptcy practice. Alexandria J. Neal, Northwestern 2017 cum laude, is with the real estate practice. Melissa A. Zabkowicz, U.W. 2017 summa cum laude, is with the corporate practice.

    Jenna E. RousseauJenna E. Rousseau, Marquette 2010 magna cum laude, has been promoted to shareholder at Strang, Patteson, Renning, Lewis & Lacy s.c., Green Bay. She practices primarily in school and higher education law, municipal law, labor and employment law, and civil litigation.

    Leila Nadim Sahar, Georgetown 2012, has joined Kravit, Hovel & Krawczyk s.c., Milwaukee, and focuses on commercial litigation, product liability, and shareholder and partnership litigation and appeals.

    Katie Harrell, U.W. 2008, Tiffany Highstrom, Marquette 2004, and Jared Potter, Florida Coastal 2007, have been promoted to partner at Stafford Rosenbaum LLP, all in the Madison office. Harrell and Highstrom concentrate in family law and are trained in collaborative divorce law. Potter’s practice includes family law as well as trust and probate administration, estate planning, and appeals.

    George Mistrioty, Marquette 1991, has joined the firm in the Milwaukee office. His practice focuses on litigation and family law.

    Douglas J. Rebholz, Marquette 1990, and Michael W. Tobin, Marquette 1990, have joined Storm, Balgeman & Klippel S.C., Wauwatosa.

    Jerry VangJerry Vang, U.W. 2013, has joined Dean Health Plan as a compliance specialist. He previously was member services manager at the State Bar of Wisconsin.

    Appointments, Elections

    Erika Bierma, Creighton 2003, with Stafford Rosenbaum LLP, Madison, has been appointed by Gov. Scott Walker to the Governor’s Juvenile Justice Commission, the state advisory group that under the federal Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act and the juvenile crime enforcement coalition administers the federal Juvenile Accountability Block Grant.

    Kevin G. KleinKevin G. Klein, U.W. 1981, of Klein Law Office S.C., Phillips, has been appointed Price County circuit judge by Gov. Scott Walker. Klein is a past president of the State Bar of Wisconsin.

    Patrick S. Murphy, Marquette 2002, has been appointed vice-chair of the ABA Business Law Section’s Banking Law Committee. He is a shareholder in the banking and financial institutions practice group at Godfrey & Kahn S.C., Milwaukee, and concentrates on mergers and acquisitions, capital-raising transactions, bank and bank holding company formations, general securities, financing transactions, and regulatory and compliance matters.

    Christopher M. Scherer, John Marshall 1999, has been appointed to the board of visitors of John Marshall Law School. He is a partner at the metro Milwaukee office of DeWitt Ross & Stevens S.C. and concentrates on domestic and international patent prosecution, particularly for electrical and electronic circuits and systems, computer software, medical devices, medical patient monitoring and treatment technology, device fabrication, optical devices and systems, and mechanical devices. He also has been appointed to the International Standing Committee on Standards and Patents, International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property.
