    Thomas A. Maroney, Marquette 1975, and Arthur B. Parry, Marquette 2000, have formed Maroney & Parry LLC, Waupaca, a general practice firm. Both were previously shareholders with Hansen, Shambeau, Maroney, Anderson & Parry S.C., Waupaca.

    Angus R. McIntyre, U.W. 1963, has formed McIntyre Law Office S.C., 47 Park Pl., # 250, Appleton, and emphasizes litigation and dispute resolution. He previously was with Bachman, Cummings, McIntyre & Wilson S.C., Appleton.

    Appointments, Elections

    Thomas J. Basting Sr., U.W. 1962, has been appointed by Gov. Jim Doyle to the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics Authority Board. He is a member of Midwest Mediation LLC, Madison.

    Thomas M. Domer, U.W. 1983, has been elected to the National Academy of Social Insurance, which promotes understanding of the societal contributions of worker’s compensation, unemployment insurance, and Social Security. He is with Domer Law S.C., Milwaukee.

    R. Thomas Howell Jr., U.W. 1967, has been named interim executive director of the American Bar Association. He previously was general counsel for the ABA.

    The Wisconsin Trial Judges Association has elected the following officers: president – Hon. Mary M. Kuhnmuench, Milwaukee; vice president – Hon. Donald Zuidmulder, Green Bay; treasurer – Hon. William Jennaro, Milwaukee; and secretary – Hon. Dennis Moroney, Milwaukee.

    Gary Sherman, U.W. 1973 cum laude, has been appointed by Gov. Jim Doyle to the District IV Court of Appeals. He operates Fairview Law Office, Port Wing, and is a member of the Wisconsin Assembly.

    Scott B. Taylor, Marquette 1992, has been appointed to the Wisconsin insurance commissioner’s Property and Casualty Advisory Council and as chair of the readability work group. He is a principal shareholder with Urban & Taylor S.C., Milwaukee, focusing on plaintiffs’ personal injury litigation and insurance disputes.

Donner, Brooklyn 2003, both with Reinhart, Boerner, Van Deuren s.c., Milwaukee, have coauthored Condemnation Law and Practice in Wisconsin (State Bar CLE Books 2009).     Molly Hall Molly Hall, Washington & Lee 1988, participated in a roundtable on climate change, trade, and economics in January in Berlin, Hamburg, and Copenhagen.     Awards, Degrees, Honors

    The Hon. Daniel P. Anderson, U.W. 1973, Wisconsin Court of Appeals; the Hon. Mark J. McGinnis, Minnesota 1996, Outagamie County Circuit Court; and the Hon. Dale T. Pasell, U.W. 1978, La Crosse County Circuit Court, have been elected fellows in the Advanced Science and Technology Adjudication Resource Center.

    M. Angela Dentice M. Angela Dentice, Marquette 1985 cum laude, was named the Robert L. Habush Trial Lawyer of the Year by the Wisconsin Association for Justice and is the first woman to receive the award. She is managing partner of M. Angela Dentice LLC, Milwaukee, and focuses exclusively on representing plaintiffs in personal injury claims.

    Colleen E. Fielkow, DePaul 1997 with honors, was named Pro Bono Attorney of the Year by her firm, Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren s.c. She is a shareholder in the litigation practice in the Milwaukee office and manages the products liability and safety group.     James A. Friedman, U.W. 1992, has been designated an accredited insurance receiver by the International Association of Insurance Receivers.     Stanley B. Kaufman, U.W. 1984, has received the Harry & Velma Hamilton Branch Service Award from the Madison branch of the NAACP for his steadfast and exemplary volunteer efforts. He is with Kaufman Law Office, Madison.

    Ruth J. Lebed-Rofes, Washington Univ. 1984, received the 2009 Paul A. Welter Award for Excellence in Trademark Law, presented by William Mitchell College of Law and Merchant & Gould, and donated the honorarium to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Wisconsin. She is with S.C. Johnson & Son, Racine.

    The Hon. Conrad A. (C.A.) Richards, U.W. 1962, received the Howard B. Eisenberg Lifetime Achievement Award from the Equal Justice Fund in November. He is a reserve judge.

    Among recipients of the 2009 Eisenberg Award, presented by the State Public Defender Board, were the Hon. James P. Daley, Marquette 1981, Rock County Circuit Court, and the U.W. Law School Frank J. Remington Center, both for their contributions to the Wisconsin Veterans Intervention Program.

    Pro Bono, Public Service

    The attorneys and other staff members at Hausmann-McNally S.C. served a free holiday meal to homeless and needy individuals in December in Milwaukee, in lieu of a holiday party for the firm.

    Hupy & Abraham S.C. made financial donations to the Rescue Riders, the Wisconsin Humane Society, and Milwaukee-area charities’ meal programs in December.
