    Isa Gonzalez-Zayas, U.W. 2002, has formed Gonzalez-Zayas Law Offices, Milwaukee, focusing on family, municipal, criminal misdemeanor, real estate, and unemployment law. She previously was with Centro Legal por Derechos Humanos, a nonprofit agency in Milwaukee.

    Appointments, Elections

    The Hon. David L. Borowski, Marquette 1991, has been appointed to a Joint Legislative Study Committee to review Wis. Stat. chapter 938 (the Juvenile Justice Code). He is assigned to the Children's Division of the Milwaukee County Circuit Court.

    The Hon. Ann Walsh Bradley, U.W. 1976, has been appointed by Gov. Jim Doyle to the Wisconsin Commission on Uniform State Laws, which, along with other state commissions and the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws, considers proposed model and uniform legislation. Bradley is a justice on the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

    The Dodge County Bar Association has chosen the following officers: president - Lisa L. Derr; and president-elect and secretary/treasurer - Cassel McClure, both of Beaver Dam.

    The Eastern District Bar Association has chosen the following officers: president - Kathleen S. Donius, Milwaukee; president-elect - Daniel T. Flaherty, Appleton; vice president - Scott J. Campbell, Milwaukee; secretary - Catherine R. Grogan, Milwaukee; and treasurer - Robert L. Gegios, Milwaukee.

    Raymond S. E. Pushkar, Marquette 1963, spoke about issues concerning Iraq contracting at the Defense Contractors Conference and the Computer Services Association mid-year meeting, both in July, and on National Public Radio's "Marketplace" program, in May and August. He is a senior partner in McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP, Washington, D.C.

    Gregory B. Conway, Marquette 1970, has been included in the 2004-05 edition of Chambers USA. America's Leading Business Lawyers. He is a partner with Liebmann, Conway, Olejniczak & Jerry S.C., Green Bay, focusing on litigation.

    James J. Gende II, John Marshall 1994, has been certified as a civil trial specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He is with Law Offices James J. Gende II S.C., Waukesha.

    Anne Knauff, Marquette 1983, received the U.S. Secretary of Labor's Exceptional Achievement Award, in recognition of superior conciliation and resolution skills, at a ceremony in Atlanta in July. She retired from federal service in June.

    Kevin G. Krogmeier, N. Kentucky Univ. - Chase 1986, received a master of laws degree in dispute resolution from Pepperdine University School of Law, Malibu, Calif., in May. He is vice president of human resources for Vulcan Materials Co., Western Division, Los Angeles.

    Schober Schober & Mitchell S.C. was the only Waukesha County-based firm to appear in the Business Journal's annual ranking of the top 30 Milwaukee-area law firms. Schober, which ranked number 27, focuses on business, real estate, litigation, estate planning, and general practice.

    The Hon. Maxine Aldridge White, Marquette 1985, received the 2004 Mattie Belle Davis Award from the National Association of Women Judges (NAWJ) in October. She sits on the Milwaukee County Circuit Court. The award is reserved for individuals who demonstrate dedication to supporting women in the legal profession. Among White's activities are serving as a regional director for the NAWJ and organizing a tribute to Wisconsin's retired female jurists.

    Pro Bono, Public Service

    Michael F. Hupy, Marquette 1972, contributed $5,000 to a reward fund set up to elicit information to solve a crime in which two persons were injured while motorcycling. He is with Michael F. Hupy & Associates S.C., Milwaukee.
