Mandatory E-filing Rolls Out in Clark, Green, Juneau, Vernon, and Wood Counties in October

    Marcia L. Vandercook

Oct. 5, 2016 – On Oct. 3, four new counties began mandatory e-filing: Clark, Green, Juneau, and Vernon. Wood County is scheduled to start on Oct. 17.

Under Wis. Stat. section 801.18, attorneys and high-volume filers, such as collections agencies, are required to file electronically on a schedule set by the Director of State Courts Office. Mandatory e-filing is now available in 16 counties for civil, small claims, family, and paternity cases. In addition, e-filing in criminal cases is voluntary in most of these counties.

The planned schedule for the rest of 2016 is:

    • Nov. 1: Ashland, Rusk
    • Nov. 15: Oneida, Waukesha
    • Dec. 1: Marathon, Racine
