Hearing to Reinstate Jevon Jones Jaconi to Practice Law

June 1, 2016 – On Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at 10 a.m., a public hearing will be held before Referee Richard Ninneman at the Milwaukee Bar Center, 424 E. Wells Street, Milwaukee, on the petition of Jevon Jones Jaconi, Green Bay, to reinstate his license to practice law in Wisconsin. Any interested person may appear at the hearing, either in person or by telephone, and be heard in support of or in opposition to the petition for reinstatement.

On Nov. 7, 2003, the Wisconsin Supreme Court suspended Jaconi’s law license for one year, for misconduct consisting of failing to provide competent representation; failing to act with reasonable diligence and promptness in representing a client; failing to keep a client informed about the status of a matter; failing to promptly refund an unearned retainer; failing to explain a matter to the extent reasonably necessary to permit the client to make informed decisions regarding the representation; and failing to take steps to the extent reasonably practicable to protect a client’s interests. Disciplinary Proceedings Against Jaconi, 2003 WI 137. Jaconi previously petitioned for reinstatement in 2013, but his petition was denied in 2014. Disciplinary Proceedings Against Jaconi, 2014 WI 110.

To be reinstated, Jaconi has the burden of substantiating by clear, satisfactory, and convincing evidence that he has the moral character to practice law in Wisconsin; his resumption of the practice of law will not be detrimental to the administration of justice or subversive of the public interest; all of his representations in his reinstatement petition are substantiated; and he has complied fully with the terms of the orders of suspension or revocation and with SCR 22.26.
