July 17, 2013 – State Bar of Wisconsin members will have free access to more than 1,800 law reviews back to their first volumes when Fastcase adds the HeinOnline collection to its research service this fall. This is the first secondary material to be integrated into the Fastcase legal research service, a benefit at no additional cost to State Bar members since 2008.

State Bar members will be able to search and preview results for free across content available in the Law Journal Library, Session Laws Library, State Attorney General Reports and Opinions, and State Statutes: A Historical Archive. There will be separate subscription options for full articles and the Hein historical statutes.

HeinOnline’s law review article citations also will be integrated into Fastcase’s citation analysis tools, Authority Check and Interactive Timeline, further enhancing all Fastcase users’ results.

Hein’s federal case coverage includes the judicial opinions of the Supreme Court (1754-present), Federal Circuits (1924-present), Board of Tax Appeals (vols. 1-47), Tax Court Memorandum Decisions (vols. 1-59), U.S. Customs Court (vols. 1-70), Board of Immigration Appeals (1996-present), Federal District Courts (1924-present), and Federal Bankruptcy Courts (1 B.R. 10present).

The state case law covers all 50 states with nearly half of the states dating back to the 1800s. Coverage for the remaining states dates back to approximately 1950.

“This is exciting news for Wisconsin members,” said State Bar Practice Management Advisor Nerino Petro. “Currently the only way to access the Hein resources is through the State Law Library or a subscription to the HeinOnline service. With its recent launch of Bad Law Bot and now the HeinOnline integration, Fastcase demonstrates its ongoing commitment to improving its service for its users.”
