    Wisconsin Supreme Court candidates to debate at State Bar center on March 28

    March 2, 2011 – The State Bar of Wisconsin, along with its Young Lawyers Division, Appellate Practice Section, Government Lawyers Division, Professionalism Committee, and other cosponsors, will hold a debate between Wisconsin Supreme Court candidates, the Hon. David Prosser and Attorney JoAnne Kloppenburg, on Monday, March 28, at 7 p.m. at the State Bar center in Madison. Individuals are invited to attend in person or via live streaming video at 7 p.m. Other sponsors include WisPolitics, the Wisconsin Radio Network, the Wisconsin Law Journal, and the Wisconsin Newspaper Association.

    Veteran Wisconsin journalist Steven Walters, host of Legally Speaking on WisconsinEye, will moderate the event.

    The candidates will participate in a traditional debate format with opening statements, timed answers/rebuttals, and closing statements. A reception for the candidates and attendees will be held prior to the debate beginning at 5:30 p.m.

    Space is limited and free tickets (available to the media and the general public) are required to attend the reception and the debate. The event  also will be broadcast simultaneously via live streaming video at http://www.wisbar.org/events/scdebate and will be rebroadcast on cable systems in various communities statewide by WisconsinEye.
