Collecting your fees: How attorneys can ensure they get paid

    Ed Poll

Sept. 21, 2011 – Lawyers often perceive themselves as professionals first and business people second. In this video with State Bar Law Practice Management Advisor Nerino Petro and Law Firm Coach Ed Poll of LawBiz, Poll notes nonpayment issues are often not the client’s fault but the lawyer’s because they did not properly present the fee agreement. Poll says a lawyer should be able to detect if payment will be a problem during the initial intake conversation.
