Aug. 19, 2026 – A family trying to avoid eviction. A teenager learning accountability through restorative justice. Training teachers leaving them with a deeper understanding of the judicial branch, constitutional law, and the legislative process, to enhance their curriculum. Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) assisting and mentoring 920 abused and neglected children in 14 Wisconsin counties.

These are among the people and communities reached by programs receiving 2026 Truman Q. McNulty grants from the Wisconsin Law Foundation – grants funded by generous donations from Wisconsin lawyers.

The Wisconsin Law Foundation is the charitable arm of the State Bar of Wisconsin. Thanks to donations from State Bar members, the Foundation annually provides high-impact Truman Q. McNulty grants up to $3,000 each to charitable or educational programs or projects that promote greater public understanding of the law, improve the administration of justice, and directly impact Wisconsin residents.

This year, the Law Foundation received $44,580 in grant requests. In line with the Foundation's budget, the Law Foundation Board of Directors approved 13 McNulty grants totaling $30,000 for 2026.

In 2026, the Law Foundation awarded grants to organizations that expand access to legal help, support youth and restorative justice programs, assist families facing housing and immigration issues, and promote public, professional, and civic understanding of the law and justice system.
