We are in search of a
changemaker to fill our open role of Chief
Corporation Counsel. Corporation Counsel advises County leadership in a manner consistent
with the strategy and direction set by the County Executive and the County
Board, supporting Milwaukee County direction and culture initiatives. As a senior executive of the county, the Corporation
Counsel also acts as a strategic business partner by providing legal advice and
oversight in a number of areas, including ethics, privacy, transparency, data collection
and storage, contracting, and regulatory and governmental changes and
compliance. Directs the prosecution and defense of civil actions,
overseeing settlement negotiations. Counsels executive, legislative and
judicial branches on legal implications during annual budget adoption, renders
formal opinions, maintains and allocates office budget, and manages outside
counsel agreements per section 59.42 of Wisconsin State Statutes
Milwaukee County oversees operations from our Airport, Behavioral Health, Child Support Enforcement, Combined Court Operations, Sheriffs Department, Community Reintegration Center, Human Services, Parks, Public Safety, Public Works, Fleet Operations, Transportation, and at the Zoo. Our departments are also dedicated to our Seniors in the Department on Aging, those with Disabilities, and Veterans Affairs.
