    Gov. Walker Seeks Applicants for Judicial Vacancy in Sauk County

    Dec. 19, 2014 – Governor Scott Walker is seeking applicants for judicial appointment to the Sauk County Circuit Court. The deadline to submit applications is Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015.

    The new appointee will replace outgoing circuit court Judge Patrick Taggart, whose resignation was effective March 20, 2015. The new appointee, should he or she choose to run, would face election in April 2016.

    Those interested should submit a judicial application, found on Gov. Walker’s website at www.walker.wi.gov (select the “judicial application” button, after clicking “apply to serve” at the right-hand side of the page), together with:

      • a cover letter;

      • a resume (not to exceed two pages);

      • two writing samples; and

      • a list of three to four references.

    Application materials should be submitted via email to: govjudicialappointments@wisconsin.gov.

    Completed application materials must be received no later than 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015. Following submission, applicants will receive an email confirming receipt and describing the general process for the appointment.

    Potential applicants with questions about the appointments process should email them to govjudicialappointments@wisconsin.gov. If you need to speak with someone immediately, contact Brian Hagedorn at 608-266-1212.
