Notice of Hearing on Petition for Reinstatement of Richard A. Kranitz to Practice Law

A public hearing will be held on the petition of Richard A. Kranitz, Grafton, to reinstate his license to practice law in Wisconsin. Any interested person may appear at the hearing and be heard in support of or in opposition to the petition for reinstatement.

June 15, 2016 – On Monday, July 25, 2016 at 9 a.m., a public hearing will be held before Referee James W. Mohr Jr. at the Ozaukee County Justice Center, Room 240, 1201 S. Spring Street, Port Washington, on the petition of Richard A. Kranitz, Grafton, to reinstate his license to practice law in Wisconsin. Any interested person may appear at the hearing and be heard in support of or in opposition to the petition for reinstatement.

On July 1, 2014, the Wisconsin Supreme Court suspended Kranitz’s law license for two years, commencing Aug. 9, 2013, for misconduct resulting in a federal felony conviction for conspiracy to commit securities fraud.

To be reinstated, Kranitz has the burden of substantiating by clear, satisfactory, and convincing evidence that he has the moral character to practice law in Wisconsin; his resumption of the practice of law will not be detrimental to the administration of justice or subversive of the public interest; all of his representations in his reinstatement petition are substantiated; and he has complied fully with the terms of the orders of suspension or revocation and with SCR 22.26.
