July 20, 2011 – As every family law practitioner knows, the divorce process can be complicated. For more than 30 years, the System Book for Family Law has guided Wisconsin attorneys and their support staff through this process and enabled them to offer high-quality representation to their clients. Lawyers of all experience levels benefit from this guide, designed to help attorneys practice more efficiently and effectively. State Bar of Wisconsin PINNACLE™ now offers the newly revised seventh edition of this time-honored resource.

From initial client interviews to post-judgment actions, the System Book for Family Law is your source for guidance on all aspects of divorce, including child custody hearings, property division, and spousal support and maintenance awards. The book also offers valuable information concerning visitation rights of nonparents; domestic abuse, child abuse, and harassment orders; and appointment of guardians ad litem.

The System Book for Family Law – available in both print and electronic form through PINNACLE’s interactive online library, Books UnBound™ – provides practitioners with the tools necessary to assist clients and protect their interests. The overviews, outlines, checklists, and forms enhance the usefulness of this text, and the book also includes two systems for collecting and organizing the information gathered in family law proceedings: the Master Information List and Office Master File. An unannotated set of forms are included on CD-ROM with the print version or online with a Books UnBound subscription.

The new seventh edition includes an abridged Master Information List for cases that involve only basic assets; a new model advanced fee agreement; model authorizations to obtain records relating to employment, legal services, education, and Child Protective Services contacts; and samples and instructions for many additional standard court forms.

The two-volume System Book for Family Law was originally authored by esteemed family law practitioner Leonard Loeb and has been updated faithfully for three decades by attorneys Gregg Herman and Sharon Drew. Attorney Kelley Shock joins Herman and Drew as an author of the 2011 revision.

The System Book for Family Law is available in print to members for $185. Print-book purchasers who subscribe to the auto-supplementation service will receive future updates for 10 percent off the regular price. Annual subscriptions to Books UnBound start at $129 per title and $649 for the full library (single-user prices; call for firm pricing). Current full-library subscribers to Books UnBound automatically receive this update.
