Do you make the most of commercial real estate opportunities? Are you a knowledgeable and informed GAL for adults?

Attend the Third Annual Commercial Real Estate Law Seminar on June 2 in Milwaukee and learn how to capitalize on the opportunities that arise when your client's property is subject to a municipal boundary agreement; how to save time in structuring section 1031 exchanges; and how the Proposed New Lender's Title Insurance Policy may affect your practice.

The morning session begins with in-depth presentations on zoning, variances, and boundary agreements and concludes with updates on the adoption of new forms by the American Land Title Association, the coverage offered by the leasehold endorsement, and issues arising out of the proposed new lender's policy.

The afternoon session covers several topics key to real estate attorneys, including section 1031 exchanges, commercial condominiums, bankruptcies in the context of commercial real estate, and an environmental law update.

The video seminar is scheduled for June 28 at statewide locations. The seminar, 8 a.m. - 4:35 p.m., has been submitted for 7.5 CLE credits, will not be submitted for EPR credits, and will be submitted for Minnesota CLE credits. Tuition is $199.

The 2005 Guardian ad Litem (GAL) Training: Funding, Ethics, and Advocacy for Adults seminar on June 10 in Madison is designed for GALs representing adults with dementia, mental illness, or developmental disabilities. Training includes a presentation on securing the least restrictive environment for the ward, approaches for reconciling the legal and medical perspectives on incompetence, an overview of the law of adult guardianships and protective placements, and discussions on obtaining GAL appointments and securing independent evaluations. The program concludes with a panel discussion on the common ethical problems faced by GALs. These include identifying the client, determining what is in the individual's best interest, and providing competent representation within the context of guardianships and protective placements.

The video seminar is scheduled for June 29 at statewide locations. The seminar, 8 a.m. - 4:35 p.m., has been submitted for 7.5 GAL Adult credits, 7.5 CLE credits, 2.0 EPR credits, and will be submitted for Minnesota CLE credits. Tuition is $199.

Start times include a 30-minute registration period.
