    CLE seminars focus on real estate law and issues of the aging

    The Advanced Issues in Real Estate Law: Easements and Condominium Documents teleseminar series on Aug. 17, 18, and 19, 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. (CDT), features a different topic daily: "Easements Part I: Definition, Characteristics, and Formation," "Easements Part II: Benefits and Burdens," and "Drafting Documents for Wisconsin Condominiums," respectively.

    Wisconsin property law attorney Jesse S. Ishikawa, Madison, who has written extensively on topics related to real estate development and authored the recently updated State Bar CLE Wisconsin Law of Easements book, presents the first two sessions.

    Day one focuses on the definition and characteristics of easements and the various ways that easements are formed. Day two focuses on how courts construe easements and includes pointers to help attorneys clarify the parties, purpose, benefits, and burdens of easements. Day three focuses on recent changes to Wisconsin's Condominium Ownership Act.

    The annual Legal Issues of the Aging seminar on Sept. 8 in Madison, presented by State Bar CLE Seminars and the Elder Law Section, will offer an in-depth look at various federal and state government programs such as Supplemental Security Income (SSI); Social Security retirement, disability, dependents' and survivors' benefits; and Medicaid waiver programs. Knowledgeable practitioners will share the most up-to-date information on the eligibility requirements for each program, the benefits granted, and tips on maintaining eligibility, including recent case law, regulatory, administrative, and legislative developments.

    The live seminar will be presented on Sept. 8 in Madison, 8 a.m. - 4:15 p.m. The video seminar is scheduled for Oct. 19 at statewide locations. This seminar has been submitted for up to 7.5 CLE credits, does not qualify for EPR credits, and will be submitted for Minnesota CLE credits. Tuition is $199. Start time includes a 30-minute registration period.
