State Bar CLE Seminars is offering two Build Your Practice (BYP) seminars this summer. BYP seminars are designed as introductions to the fundamentals of practice areas for new attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants and for experienced attor-neys who are looking to expand their practices or need refresher courses.

The BYP Handling a Basic Probate - From Date of Death to Final Accounting seminar addresses the probate process, from the initial client interview and deciding on the appropriate procedure through initiation of the estate and final accounting, closing and distribution. Learn how to handle claims made against an estate and how to manage the unavoidable tax issues and filings involved with probating an estate.

The live program will be presented on June 17 in Milwaukee, 8 a.m. - 3:15 p.m. The video seminar is scheduled for Aug. 12 at statewide locations. This program has been approved for up to 6.0 CLE credits, does not qualify for EPR credits, and has been submitted for Minnesota CLE credits.

The BYP Estate Planning Step II intermediate-level program builds on the information provided at the basic program. Panelists explore advanced estate planning issues such as tax issues related to marital deduction planning, irrevocable life insurance trusts, and qualified domestic trusts and discuss gifting techniques using trusts, use of family limited partnerships, and generation-skipping transfer tax planning.

The live program will be presented on June 18 in Milwaukee, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. The video seminar is scheduled for Aug. 13 at statewide locations. This program has been approved for up to 7.0 CLE credits, does not qualify for EPR credits, and has been submitted for Minnesota CLE credits.

Tuition for both seminars is $199 ($189 for Young Lawyers Division members).

Start times listed include a 30-minute registration period.
