Bar dues and court assessments set for FY 05

The 2004 State Bar dues and supreme court assessments statements will be mailed this month. State Bar dues increased from $210 to $224 for active members. The increase, the first in six years, will be used to fund and improve existing programs and provide new member and public services.

The Board of Bar Examiners (BBE) assessment increased from $11.50 to $13. The Office of Lawyer Regulation (OLR) assessment increased from $123.12 to $132.66. BBE and OLR fees quoted are for full active licenses for lawyers in practice for three or more years.

The Clients' Security Fund (CSF) assessment is $10. All Wisconsin-licensed attorneys, except those classified as inactive, contribute to the CSF. (See Clients' Security Fund disburses $25K, sets FY 05 assessment)

Dues and assessments are due July 1, 2004.
