    CLE seminars focus on legal writing principles, basic taxation issues, and latest trends in GAL minor issues

    Sharpen the competitive advantage your writing creates at the Beyond Legal Writing 101 seminar. New attorneys, legal support professionals, and seasoned professionals will receive helpful advice focusing on easy-to-follow principles of communication. Taught by Timothy P. Terrell, professor of law at Emory University School of Law, Atlanta, this seminar will increase legal writing and editing skills.

    The live program will be presented on April 22 in Milwaukee, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. The video seminar is scheduled for June 29 at statewide locations. Tuition is $219. The program has been submitted for up to 7.5 CLE credits, does not qualify for EPR credits and will be submitted for Minnesota CLE credits.

    The State Bar CLE Seminars Annual GAL Training unites experienced attorneys, psychiatrists, and psychologists who will bring their unique perspectives to the myriad of issues that arise in family law cases involving minors. These knowledgeable professionals will assist attorneys, regardless of their experience level, who take on Guardian ad Litem (GAL) appointments, in understanding this unique role and all its complexities.

    The basic seminar on April 28 in Madison, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., has been submitted for up to 7.5 CLE/GAL credits and 1.0 EPR credit. The advanced seminar on April 29 in Madison, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., has been submitted for up to 7.0 CLE/GAL credits and 1.0 EPR credit. Both programs will be submitted for Minnesota CLE credits. The video seminar is scheduled for June 15 and 16 at statewide locations. Tuition is $360 for both days and $199 for day one or day two.

    Learn how to incorporate taxation into your practice on tax issues at the live-only Building Blocks to a Successful Tax Practice seminar. Presenter George M. Schain, a former appeals officer and law instructor for the IRS and an internationally recognized authority on taxation, will offer an insider's perspective on how the IRS's organizational structure can help or hurt clients. Gain an understanding of the effects that IRS code sections, committee reports, treasury regulations, rulings, and court decisions have on your case.

    The live program on May 19, 20, and 21 in Wausau, Green Bay, and Waukesha, respectively, 8 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., has been approved for up to 6.5 CLE credits and will not be submitted for EPR or Minnesota CLE credits. Tuition is $219.

    Start times listed include a 30-minute registration period.
