Aug. 4, 2010 – On May 22, Janesville attorney Jim Carney and family hit pavement in Astoria, Ore. for a cross-country bicycle ride known as the TransAmerica Trail. On July 28, 69 days and 4,276 miles later, the Carneys crossed the finish line in Yorktown, Va.

“Without question, as with all life experiences, we are each changed in some manner,” Jim Carney wrote on his cross-county blog entitled “Ten Tires.”

In May, the State Bar of Wisconsin checked in with Jim Carney and family as they prepared for the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. Since then, the group averaged 67 miles per day, stopped only once (July 4), and pedaled 107 miles in one day. Congratulations to the Carneys.
