State Bar announces interruption of some website functions

On May 15, the State Bar of Wisconsin disabled the hyperlinks in past emails for WisBar Inside Track, select section electronic newsletters, and State Bar promotional materials. Future emails will not be affected. Additionally, the State Bar has suspended its elist archives and digest function.

The State Bar has taken this precaution following a routine security scan that identified a software issue. The State Bar takes data and Internet security very seriously, and this service interruption is a preemptive measure. Full services will resume after the State Bar’s software vendor addresses the matter. In the meanwhile, access past issues of InsideTrack and section electronic newsletters through WisBar.

Because of the State Bar’s assertive policy toward its software, elists remain a safe and effective means of communicating with peers in the legal community.

The State Bar regrets the inconvenience this may create for its members. Please direct questions about this issue to State Bar Customer Service at (800) 728-7788 or (608) 257-3838.
