Basic Search Tips

A Basic Search is the most common way to search for a name of a Wisconsin-licensed lawyer. Use any combination of fields (first name, last name, and county) in your search.

The Basic Search is a “begins with” wildcard search, which means that a search for "Adam" will result with "Adam," "Adams," "Adamson,” and so on. The results are sorted alphabetically by last, first, and middle name.

When searching by county, use the drop-down list of all Wisconsin counties. Never worry again about how to spell “Trempealeau.”

If you’re searching for a lawyer with two last names or a hyphenated last name, the basic search looks up the first of the two last names. For example, if you are looking for Mark Smith Anderson or Mark Smith-Anderson, the last name search will look for Smith (not Anderson). In these situations, if you don’t find what you’re looking for, use the Advanced Search. With the tabs above, switching between Basic and Advanced searches is fast!

Narrow your search and/or get better results by adding additional, relevant information to your search. The more you add, the easier it will be to find the result you are looking for.
