    New Hires, Promotions, Partners

    Joshua J. Brady, Marquette 2002, Jennifer J. Collins, Marquette 2001, and Shawn R. Hillmann, Marquette 2001, have been promoted to shareholder at Bass & Moglowsky S.C., Milwaukee. Brady focuses on consumer and commercial collections. Collins and Hillmann focus on foreclosure, real estate, and title resolution. Eric S.     Summer H. Carlisle, Georgetown 2009, has joined Hawks Quindel S.C., Milwaukee, as an associate and practices labor, employment, and wage and hour law.

    William J. Domina, U.W. 1985, has become a Waukesha County Circuit Court judge. He was appointed by Gov. Jim Doyle to a seat that will be filled by election in April 2011. Domina previously was Milwaukee County Corporation Counsel and served on the State Bar Board of Governors representing District 2.

    Andrew Hebl, Michigan State 2008, has joined the Boardman Law Firm, Madison, as an associate with the insurance litigation team. He previously was judicial law clerk to the Hon. Patience Drake Roggensack, Wisconsin Supreme Court.

    David P. Knaff David P. Knaff, Marquette 2010, has joined the Wausau office of Ruder Ware LLSC and focuses on business organizations, commercial contracts, corporate finance and securities, mergers and acquisitions, and real estate matters.

    The Milwaukee Trial Judges Association has elected the following officers: president – Hon. David Borowski; vice president – Hon. Paul Van Grunsven; secretary – Hon. Jane Carroll; and treasurer – Hon. Dennis Cimpl, all of Milwaukee.

    Randy S. Nelson, Marquette 1977, has been reappointed to the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel business planning committee. He is with Weiss Berzowski Brady LLP, Milwaukee.

    Christie A. Linskens Christie, Marquette 1987, has written “Law School: A Multicultural Curriculum for Living in the 21st Century,” Multicultural Education (Fall 2009). She is a staff attorney with the Legal Aid Society of Milwaukee and an adjunct professor at Marquette Law School.

    Carlton D. Stansbury, Iowa 1990 with distinction, presented “Are We Reaching the Tipping Point? Arbitrating Custody Disputes” at the Law Education Institute National CLE Conference and authored two chapters in 101+ Practical Solutions for the Family Lawyer (ABA 3d ed.). He is a shareholder with Burbach & Stansbury S.C., Milwaukee, and concentrates in family law.

    Steven D. Huff Steven D. Huff, Boston Univ. 1977, was nominated as a BTI Client Service All-Star. He is chair of the employee benefits practice at Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren s.c., Milwaukee.

    Todd Korb, U.W. 1996, has been certified as a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum. He is with the Milwaukee office of Hupy & Abraham S.C. Todd Korb

    Kathy Nusslock, Marquette 1985, received the Brennan Award from the National Trial Advocacy College at the University of Virginia Law School in recognition of her many years’ work on the college’s faculty. She is a shareholder and chair of the litigation group at Davis & Kuelthau, Milwaukee.

    The Hon. Donald R. Zuidmulder, U.W. 1968, received the 2009 “Spirit of Leadership” award from JOSHUA (Justice Organization Sharing Hope and United for Action) for his leadership in establishing the Brown County drug court program. He is a Brown County circuit court judge.

    Pro Bono, Public Service

    Attorneys and other employees at Blommer Peterman S.C., Milwaukee, contributed more than 8,000 pounds of food to the Hunger Task Force in December and have volunteered to sort food for a local post office for the U.S. Postal Service’s Stamp Out Hunger food drive on May 8.

    Hupy & Abraham S.C., Milwaukee, presented three defibrillators to the Milwaukee Police Department for use in squad cars. The firm also received a Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Award from the Milwaukee branch of the NAACP in recognition of the firm’s monetary contributions to the organization’s scholarship fund.

    David Pruhs, Marquette 1991, recently spent time in Haiti assisting his parents at their dental clinic at a Port-au-Prince hospital. He is an assistant family court commissioner in Milwaukee.
