I would be honored to serve as Secretary of the State Bar of Wisconsin. With more than 24,000 members from 72 counties, the State Bar serves a diverse membership with wide ranging, and often diverging, economic, political, and social interests. However, we all share an interest in having a State Bar that manages our dues in an efficient and effective way to promote the purposes mandated by SCR 10.02(2). To that end, my duties as Secretary would be to work closely with the Executive Director and the administrative staff to ensure the minutes and records are well kept, the membership files are maintained, and the headquarters are well-run. My professional experience is well suited for these duties.

In private practice, I am responsible for managing complex commercial and intellectual property litigation, and I have led my practice group’s Client Matter Management initiative designed to implement legal project management tools to efficiently and consistently deliver value to our clients. I also serve as Secretary for the Western District of Wisconsin Bar Association, and as a member of the Board of Directors for Child Development, Inc., a nonprofit public-private partnership with a mission to provide affordable, high-quality child care to families with young children of varying backgrounds on the south side of Madison. From the courtroom to the community, I work collegially with friends and colleagues to promote the interests of justice. I would welcome the opportunity to do the same as Secretary of the State Bar.
