Board supports filing amicus in UPL case, supports OLR petition
At its first 2003-04 board meeting, in July, the Board of Governors approved filing an amicus brief supporting a case before the Wisconsin Supreme Court that could determine what constitutes the unauthorized practice of law, supported an Office of Lawyer Regulation (OLR) petition, and heard presentations on the Revised Uniform Arbitration Act (see article at left) among other actions.

Board debates Revised Uniform Arbitration Act
At its July 11 meeting, the Board of Governors heard pro and con positions from several Bar entities as to whether the Bar should take a position on the Revised Uniform Arbitration Act (RUAA), a uniform act developed by the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws.
