WisLAP trains volunteers to assist troubled lawyers; recognizes individual contributions
The Wisconsin Lawyers Assistance Program (WisLAP) sponsored a training day in October for attorneys who answer calls to WisLAP's hotline. WisLAP provides confidential, meaningful assistance to lawyers, judges, law students, and their families in coping with alcoholism and other chemical addiction, depression, acute and chronic anxiety, and problems related to the stress of practicing law.

Ethics program expands with new ethics counsel; Kaap retires after 25 years
On Nov. 30, the State Bar bids farewell to Keith Kaap, who has served as ethics counsel since 1979. Taking the reins in the newly expanded ethics counsel role is Timothy J. Pierce, who joined the Bar in September.
