Board approves ABA delegate position, discusses ethics and WisTAF petitions
At its Sept. 23 - 24 meeting in Minocqua, the Board of Governors discussed the Supreme Court Ethics 2000 Committee and WisTAF (see article) petitions. The board also approved the election of a fifth ABA delegate and a proposal to reapportion Board of Governor districts (see related articles), among other actions.

Bar seeks feedback on WisTAF petition requesting mandatory assessment to fund legal services for indigent
At its Sept. 23 - 24 meeting, the Board of Governors discussed the Wisconsin Trust Account Foundation (WisTAF) petition, which seeks mandatory payment of $50 per attorney to WisTAF to provide funding for civil legal services for people who cannot afford an attorney. The petition was filed with the Wisconsin Supreme Court in June. A hearing is scheduled for Jan. 12, 2005.
