    Interested in Green Tier Participation?

If your environmental law client is interested in participating in Green Tier, these steps are a good place to begin.

    1) Does your client company or municipality currently implement an Environmental Management System (EMS) that either meets the standards for an EMS issued by the International Organization for Standards (ISO) or is functionally equivalent? If your client is ISO 14001 certified, the answer is yes. If not, but your client is willing to put an EMS in place, Tier I may be the place to start. If your client is ISO 14001 certified, consider participation in Tier II.

    2) Review the client's environmental compliance history. If a judgment has been entered or a lawsuit filed within the too recent past, your client may not be eligible now, but might be in the future.

    3) What types of superior environmental performance could the company or municipality provide? What types of incentives would be of benefit in return?

    4) For more information, visit the DNR Green Tier Web site.
