I, George C. Brown, Executive Director of the State Bar of Wisconsin, do hereby certify that Redistricting Proposal #1 of the Board of Governors Redistricting Committee was duly adopted by the Board of Governors of the State Bar of Wisconsin on Sept. 23-24, 2004.

Certificate of Redistricting and Reapportionment of State Bar Districts

    SCR 10.05(2)(c) State Bar Districts
As required by SCR 10.05(2)(c), every ten years beginning January 1, 1995, the Board of Governors must adopt revisions to the Board of Governors Districts. At the September 23-24, 2004, meeting of the Board of Governors, on motion by Governor Langley, with a second by Governor George, the Board of Governors approved Proposal #1 of the Board of Governors Redistricting Committee.

Proposal #1 transfers Lincoln County from District 16 to District 11, adds one additional governor each to District 6 (Waukesha County) and District 9 (Dane County) and removes one governor from District 2 (Milwaukee County). The number of governors in District 6 increases from two to three, in District 9 increases from six to seven, and in District 2 decreases from thirteen to twelve. Attached is the information provided to the Board of Governors: a memo outlining Proposal #1; and three charts with redistricting information, including current representation, Proposal #1 and Proposal #2. Also attached is the portion of the minutes of the September 23-24, 2004, Board of Governors meeting relating to the decision to adopt Proposal #1 and my certification of the Board action.
