    New Hires, Promotions, Partners

    Bridget E. Bauman, U.W. 2000, has been named director of the Wisconsin Court System’s Children’s Court Improvement Program (CCIP), Madison. She previously was a policy analyst for the CCIP.

    Randall E. Bennett, U.W. 1988, has been promoted to general counsel at Technicolor Connected Home World-Wide, Indianapolis.

    Patrick BerryPatrick Berry, U.W. 2014 summa cum laude, has joined Boardman & Clark LLP, Madison, as an associate, practicing primarily with the business practice group.

    The Hon. Andrew P. Bissonnette, Wyoming 1975, has become executive assistant to Wisconsin Supreme Court Chief Justice Shirley Abrahamson. He previously was a reserve judge and a court commissioner in Dodge County.

    David A. Bolles, U.W. 2008, has joined Lawton & Cates S.C., Madison, and continues to concentrate on criminal law, employment law, and civil litigation.

    Nicholas BykowskyNicholas Bykowsky, Oklahoma City 1977, has become a senior attorney with the Florida Office of Financial Regulation in the Miami Regional Office, enforcing securities and finance laws. He previously was general counsel of a health care company in Pensacola.

    Christopher Eisold, Marquette 2008, has joined the law department of Northwestern Mutual, Milwaukee, as an assistant general counsel and assistant secretary on the securities investment team. He previously was with Meissner Tierney Fisher & Nichols S.C.

    David N. IancuDavid N. Iancu, Marquette 2010, has become a shareholder with Karp Law Offices S.C., Milwaukee, and focuses on family law and personal injury law.

    Jason ReedRyan WiesnerJason Reed, U.W. 2014, and Ryan Wiesner, Marquette 2012, have joined the Madison office of Murphy Desmond S.C. Reed focuses on business law, including contracts, business formation, and tax planning. Wiesner focuses on litigation.

    Stacie H. RosenzweigStacie H. Rosenzweig, Marquette 2009 summa cum laude, has joined Halling & Cayo S.C., Milwaukee, as an associate and focuses on civil litigation, including insurance defense, coverage, and fraud; securities fraud; consumer law, and professional responsibility defense.

    Anne SaghirAnne Saghir, Saint Louis Univ. 2006, has joined the Madison office of Hupy and Abraham S.C., a personal injury law firm. She previously worked for Butler Pappas.

    Elyse Mollner StackhouseElyse Mollner Stackhouse, U.W. 2014, has become general counsel and secretary for U.S. Venture Inc., a distributor and marketer of energy, automotive, and lubricant products based in Appleton. She previously was assistant general counsel for Integrys Energy Group Inc.

    Michael T. Van Someren, Marquette 2012 cum laude, has joined the Milwaukee office of Davis & Kuelthau s.c. as an associate with the corporate and real estate practice. He previously was with a Waukesha County-based business law firm.

    Cindy HangartnerWilliam WalloCindy Hangartner, U.W. 1995, and William Wallo, Oklahoma 1992, have been elected shareholders at Weld, Riley, Prenn & Ricci S.C., Eau Claire. Hangartner focuses on taxation and telecommunication issues. Wallo focuses on business law.

    Mergers, Relocations, New Offices

    Vanessa A. Klemish, U.W. 2010, and Wendy Sue Johnson, William Mitchell 2010, have established Klemish & Johnson LLC, 826 S. Hastings Way, Suite 2, Eau Claire. Klemish practices in general civil litigation, real estate, and estate planning. Johnson handles family law matters.

    Appointments, Elections

    Angela M. Lai, U.W. 2004, has been elected president of the Sacramento County Bar Association. She is a senior attorney at the Office of Enforcement of the California Department of Managed Health Care, Sacramento.

    Katherine Maloney PerhachKatherine Maloney Perhach, Marquette 2000 cum laude, has been selected as managing partner of the Milwaukee office of Quarles & Brady LLP. She is a partner in the commercial litigation practice group and the financial services industry team.

    Gov. Scott Walker has appointed four new judges to fill vacancies on Wisconsin circuit courts: Hon. Michael J. Aprahamian, Yale 1992, Waukesha County; Hon. Anna L. Becker, Hamline 1992, Jackson County; Hon. Vincent R. Biskupic, DePaul 1989, Outagamie County; and Hon. Josann M. Reynolds, U.W. 1981, Dane County.

    Wisconsin Supreme Court Chief Justice Shirley S. Abrahamson, Indiana Univ.-Bloomington 1956, and Justice Ann Walsh Bradley, U.W. 1976, have been named ambassadors to the iCivics program, which provides free, interactive educational resources to children nationwide.

    The Wisconsin Association for Justice has elected the following officers: president – Ann S. Jacobs, U.W. 1992, Jacobs Injury Law SC, Milwaukee; president-elect – Russell T.     Awards, Degrees, Honors

    Kristin R. Muenzen, Marquette 2003, received the John Marshall Award from the U.S. Department of Justice for her work in the litigation of United States v. 275.81 Acres, concerning the acquisition of the property where United Airlines Flight 93 crashed on Sept. 11, 2001. She is a trial attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice in the Land Acquisition Section of the Environment and Natural Resources Division, Washington, D.C.

    Retirements

    The following judges recently retired: Hon. Donald J. Hassin Jr., Marquette 1981, Waukesha County Circuit Court; Hon. Fred W. Kawalski, Loyola-Chicago 1973, Langlade County Circuit Court; and Hon. Dale T. Pasell, U.W. 1978, La Crosse County Circuit Court.
