    Kyle Costello, U.W. 2010, and Kevin Kreger, Marquette 2009, have joined Boyle Fredrickson, Milwaukee. Costello focuses on intellectual property acquisition, enforcement, and licensing. Kreger focuses on computer, electronics, and software intellectual property.

    Pedro Colón, U.W. 1994, has been appointed to the Milwaukee County Circuit Court by Gov. Jim Doyle. He previously was in private practice and also represented the 8th Assembly District in the Wisconsin Legislature.

    Brian E. Cothroll, U.W. 2003 magna cum laude, has joined A.O. Smith Corp., Milwaukee, as assistant general counsel. He previously was with Foley & Lardner LLP, Milwaukee.

    Three attorneys have been promoted to shareholder at Davis & Kuelthau s.c. Daniel Kaminsky, Marquette 2002 cum laude, focuses on real estate development and commercial real estate transactions in the Milwaukee office. Geoffrey Lacy, Marquette 2002, focuses on employment law in the Green Bay office. Matthew McClean, Marquette 2002, focuses on commercial litigation in the Milwaukee office. Robert A. Mathers, William Mitchell 1990, has joined the firm as a shareholder in the Oshkosh office. He also is a CPA and previously was president of Clifton Gunderson’s wealth management group, based in Madison.

    Joel Graham, Washington 2007, has joined the Madison office of Merchant & Gould PC as an associate and concentrates in intellectual property law. He previously was senior court counsel for the Republic of Palau Supreme Court.

    Robert Hawley, Villanova 1974, has been appointed to the Winnebago County Circuit Court by Gov. Jim Doyle. He served on the bench from 1982 to 2006 and also has been a Winnebago County assistant corporation counsel, assistant district attorney, and district attorney.

    Wendy Helgemo, Colorado 1995, has joined the staff of Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.) as counsel for Indian affairs. She previously was with the National American Indian Housing Council.

    Nicole C. Maher, Marquette 2006, has joined the Pewaukee headquarters of Waterstone Mortgage Corp. as corporate counsel.

    Cate L. May, Marquette 2010, has joined Rose & deJong S.C., Milwaukee, as an associate and focuses on business and commercial litigation.

    Molly Hogan McKinley, U.W. 2001, has been promoted to shareholder at Jansson Shupe & Munger Ltd., Racine and Lake Forest, Ill., and continues to concentrate in U.S. and foreign patent and trademark matters.

    Benjamin A. Menzel, Marquette 2002, has joined Beck, Chaet, Bamberger & Polsky S.C., Milwaukee, and focuses on commercial and business litigation and debtor/creditor matters.

    Callie M. Bell, Baylor 2003, and Michelle Manning, U.W. 2001, have formed Bell & Manning LLC, 122 E. Olin Ave., Madison, which focuses on U.S. and international patent matters. Bell previously was with Foley & Lardner LLP. Manning previously was with Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek S.C. Meredith Porembski, U.W. 2007, has joined the firm as an associate.     Umentum Law Office S.C., Green Bay, has changed its name to Umentum & Kimps S.C. Firm members Corey D. Kimps, Florida State 2005, and Paul P. Umentum, U.W. 1984, offer a range of services including estate planning, personal injury, business law, real estate, and family law.

    Cristina D. HernandezCristina D. Hernandez, Harvard 1995, has been chosen for the inaugural class of a pilot project entitled Value-Based Skills: Equipping the Next Generation of Latina Corporate Practice Leaders, sponsored by the Hispanic National Bar Association and the Association of Corporate Counsel.     Ashley L. Belleau, Tulane 1984, has become national president of the Federal Bar Association. She focuses on commercial law at Montgomery, Barnett, Brown, Read, Hammond & Mintz LLP, New Orleans.

    Roberta F. (Bobbi) Howell, U.W. 1989, has been elected president of the Western Wisconsin Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. She is a partner in the Madison office of Foley & Lardner LLP.

    Eunice GibsonEunice Gibson, U.W. 1973, received the William I. Thornton Outstanding Faculty Award from the International Municipal Lawyers Association at its annual conference in New Orleans in October. She is retired as Madison city attorney.

    Jeffrey P. Aiken, Marquette 1972 cum laude, has received certification as a mediator with the International Mediation Institute in the Netherlands. He is senior counsel with Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek S.C., Milwaukee.

    Foley & Lardner LLP is an honorable mention recipient of the 2010 Alfred P. Sloan Awards for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility.
