Thomas G. Aridas, Marquette 1997, has joined Integrys Energy Group Inc., Chicago, as director of gas regulatory policy. He previously was chief administrative law judge for the Illinois Commerce Commission.

			Five attorneys have been promoted to partner in the Milwaukee office of Foley & Lardner LLP. Mark J. Diliberti, Chicago 1998, is a member of the trademark, copyright and advertising practice and the entertainment and media industry team. Dana M. Lach, U.W. 1999, is a member of the finance and financial institutions, public finance services, and health care finance and restructuring practices. Mark T. Plichta, Northwestern 1999, is a member of the transactional and securities practice. Bryan S. Schultz, Cincinnati 1999, is a member of the transactional and securities and commercial transactions and business counseling practices and the international business industry team. Kevin R. Schulz, U.W. 1999, is a member of the transactional and securities and commercial transactions and business counseling practices and the international business, sports, and food industry teams.

Rhonda K. Frank-Loron, U.W. 2000, has joined the U.S. Probation Office, Western District of Wisconsin, Madison, as a probation officer.

Joshua Fredericks, U.W. 2003, has joined State Bar CLE as an attorney editor. He previously was a staff attorney with the Dane County Circuit Court and also clerked with the Wisconsin Supreme Court and the Wisconsin Court of Appeals.

Cindy L. Fryda, Marquette 2003, has joined the Schroeder Group S.C., Attorneys at Law, Waukesha, and continues to focus on labor and employment law.

James C. Green, Marquette 1991, has been named corporate vice president _ general counsel for Patch Products, Beloit, a game and puzzle manufacturer and marketer. He previously was with a Milwaukee-based firm.

Five attorneys have been elected shareholders with Godfrey & Kahn S.C. In the Madison office: Jeffrey J. Femrite, Marquette 1991, is with the real estate group. Steven A. Heinzen, U.W. 1998, and Josh Johanningmeier, Iowa 1999, are with the litigation group. In the Milwaukee office: Todd M. Cleary, Cornell 1999, is with the tax and employee benefits groups. Michael D. Huitink, Georgetown 1999, is with the litigation group. Donsia Strong Hill, John Marshall 1989, has joined the corporate practice group as a shareholder and practices from the Milwaukee and Green Bay offices. She previously was with Tyson Strong Hill LLC.

David J. Kania, Marquette 2001, and Thomas M. Rohe, Duke 1988, have become shareholders in the Milwaukee office of Kasdorf, Lewis & Swietlik S.C. Both attorneys are members of the worker's compensation practice section.

Dan Kirschnik, Thomas M. Cooley cum laude 1998, has joined Lakelaw-Kenosha as of counsel, focusing on real estate matters. He continues as chief operating officer and in house counsel for Bear Realty of Kenosha, Inc.

Bryan Kleinmaier, U.W. 2000, has been promoted to partner with the Madison office of Stafford Rosenbaum LLP and continues to focus on municipal, labor and employment, and public utility law.

Anthony D. Cotton, Marquette 2005, has been promoted to partner at Kuchler Law Offices, Waukesha, and continues to focus on criminal defense. The firm now is known as Kuchler & Cotton Law Offices. Christopher Wiesmueller, Oklahoma City 2007, has joined the firm and focuses on criminal defense.

Edward G. Langer, U.W. 1979, has joined the tax department of KPMG in its Milwaukee office.

Susan Ham Martin, U.W. 1994 cum laude, has been appointed vice president, corporate secretary, and associate general counsel of Wisconsin Energy Corp., Milwaukee. She previously was law director of We Generation, a part of We Energies.

Kerrie L. Liedtke, Iowa 2001, and Matthew P. Vosters, U.W. 2001, have joined McCarty Law LLP, Appleton. Liedtke focuses on business and corporate law; she previously practiced with O'Connor & Thomas P.C., Dubuque, and Omholt & Forsythe S.C., Iola. Vosters focuses on estate planning and business law; he previously was with Deloitte Tax LLP, Milwaukee.

David J. McCormick, Marquette 1989, has been promoted to shareholder at Previant, Goldberg, Uelmen, Gratz, Miller & Brueggeman S.C., Milwaukee, and continues to concentrate in plaintiff's personal injury and worker's compensation matters.

Michael J. McGovern, U.W. 1973 cum laude, has joined Boyle Fredrickson, Milwaukee, and continues to focus on intellectual property law. He previously was with Quarles & Brady LLP.

J. Paul Neumeier Jr., U.W. 1996, has become a shareholder in Beck, Chaet, Bamberger & Polsky S.C., Milwaukee, and concentrates in commercial real estate, commercial leasing, and general corporate law.

Angela J. Olson, U.W. 2003, has joined Appleton Papers Inc., Appleton, as legal counsel and assistant corporate secretary. She previously was director of research and compliance for US Canadian Biofuels Inc.

Eric J. Pagels, U.W. 2007 cum laude, has joined Fox, O'Neill & Shannon S.C., Milwaukee, and practices in business, real estate, and tax law.

John J. Prentice, Marquette 1991, has joined Simandl & Murray S.C., Waukesha, as a shareholder, and continues to focus on the representation of employers in labor and employment matters.

Bradley W. Raaths, Marquette 1999, has been named a shareholder in the Madison office of DeWitt Ross & Stevens S.C. and continues to concentrate in business and franchise law, particularly mergers and acquisitions, contracts, and commercial real estate matters.

Aaron Ruble, U.W. 2004, has joined Cogswell Nakazawa & Chang LLP, Long Beach, Calif., as an associate and concentrates on maritime law and civil litigation.

Chris Schilder, Michigan 2001, has joined ThyssenKrupp Safway Inc., Waukesha, as associate counsel - litigation management. He previously worked with the Milwaukee offices of Foley & Lardner LLP and Gass Weber Mullins LLC.

Richard Schuster, U.W. 2005 cum laude, has joined Piper & Schmidt, Milwaukee, as an associate and focuses on insurance coverage and defense litigation.

Adam J. Sheridan, Marquette 2004 cum laude, has joined Alticor Inc., Ada, Mich., as corporate counsel in the commercial transactions legal group.

Heath P. Straka, U.W. 2000, has been named a partner in Gingras, Cates & Luebke, Madison, and continues to focus on medical malpractice, civil rights, personal injury, and legal malpractice.

Joseph T. Wang, Northwestern 2007, has joined the business transactions group of Ruder Ware L.L.S.C., Wausau.

Paula K. Doyle, U.W. 1980, has opened Doyle Law Office, 44 E. Mifflin St., Suite 801, Madison. She previously was with Schuster & Doyle.

David B. Feingold, Chicago 1973, and Renee A. Read, St. Louis 2004, are partners in the new general practice firm Feingold & Read LLP, Janesville. Read previously was an associate with the predecessor firm, Feingold & Associates LLC.

Matthew L. Goldin, Baltimore 1991, and William M. Lennon, U.W. 1984, have formed Goldin & Lennon LLC, Oshkosh, focusing on criminal, traffic, real estate, and personal injury matters. Goldin previously was with Goldin Law Offices LLC. Lennon previously was the Winnebago County District Attorney.

Frank J. Parise, Valparaiso 1985, has opened the Law Office of Frank J. Parise LLC, 1119 60 St., Kenosha, and focuses on general litigation, criminal defense, and business litigation.

Appointments, Elections

The Ashland-Bayfield County Bar Association has elected the following officers: president - John R. Carlson, Washburn; vice president - Richard A. Lavigne Jr., Ashland; and secretary/treasurer - Joseph C. Crawford, La Pointe.

Patti Wright Cronin, U.W. 1983, has been appointed executive director of Read Aloud America Inc., Honolulu, a nonprofit organization that promotes family literacy. She previously was executive director of the Wisconsin Waste Facility Siting Board and was with the Board of Commissioners of Public Lands.

The Douglas County Bar Association has elected the following officers: president - Parrish J.R. Jones; president-elect - Jamy R. Johnasen; and secretary/treasurer - Johanna R. Kirk, all of Superior.

The Fond du Lac County Bar Association has elected the following officers: president _Kirk W. Everson; president-elect - Clifford C. Burdon; secretary - Michael S. Gibbs; and treasurer - Alexander L. Ullenberg, all of Fond du Lac.

James D. Friedman, Notre Dame 1972, has joined the board of Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce. He is a partner with the Milwaukee office of Quarles & Brady LLP and focuses on financial institutions and litigation, health, corporate services and finance securities, commercial financial services, private equity and venture capital, and international business.

Erik R. Guenther, U.W. 2002, has been elected president of the American Civil Liberties Union of Wisconsin. He also was selected as the 2007 "Warrior of the Year" by the Dane County Criminal Defense Bar Association for his work to improve the Afghanistan legal system. He is a criminal defense attorney with Hurley, Burish & Stanton S.C., Madison.

Jamie Johnson, U.W. 1987, has been appointed to the Judicial Advisory Council by Gov. Jim Doyle. The council helps the governor make appointments to fill mid-term vacancies at the circuit and appellate court levels in Wisconsin. Johnson is a trial lawyer and shareholder with the Hudson office of Lommen, Abdo, Cole, King & Stageberg, P.A.

The Legal Association for Women has elected the following officers: president _ Carrie M. Benedon; president-elect - Sara E. Spiering; secretary - Margit S. Kelley; and treasurer - Mindy Rowland Buenger, all of Madison.

The Wisconsin Association of Worker's Compensation Attorneys has elected the following officers: president - Cathy A. Lake, Jefferson; president-elect - William A. Wulf, Merrill; secretary - Barry J. Stern, Madison; and treasurer - John A. Griner, Brookfield.

The Wisconsin Family Court Commissioners Association has elected the following officers: president - Katherine M. Stewart, Spooner; vice president - Timothy J. Burns, Monroe; and secretary/treasurer - Sandra J. Marcus, Wausau.
