Rhinelander attorney will head Real Property & Probate Trust section

MADISON, June 16, 2003 - Attorney William A. Schroeder has been elected chairperson for the State Bar of Wisconsin's Real Property & Probate Trust section beginning July 1. During his one-year term, he will oversee a 27-member committee that provides a forum for practitioners to examine real property, trusts and probate law. This section also recommends legislation and has published a multidisciplinary report.

Schroeder has been practicing law since 1967 and is a partner in the law firm of Sommer, Olk, Schroeder & Payant, LLP. He is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and received his law degree with distinction from The University of Michigan Law School in 1966. He is a Navy veteran, and a member of the Rhinelander Rotary Club.

The State Bar of Wisconsin is the mandatory professional association, created by the Wisconsin Supreme Court, for attorneys who hold a law license in Wisconsin. With more than 20,000 members, the State Bar aids the courts in improving the administration of justice, provides continuing legal education for its members to help them maintain their expertise, and assists Wisconsin lawyers in carrying out community service initiatives to educate the public about the legal system and the value of lawyers.
