    Shannon K. Cummings, Hamline 1998, has become a partner, practicing in bankruptcy, creditor’s rights, foreclosure, and client relations, at Blommer Peterman S.C., Brookfield. Stephen A. Smith, Oklahoma City 2012, has joined the firm as an associate. He leads the eviction team and handles foreclosure matters.

    William Bock, U.W. 1972, has been selected general counsel for the Arizona League of Cities and Towns. Previously he was the Phoenix, Ariz., chief assistant city attorney and was corporation counsel for Racine and Walworth Counties.

    Nicholas J. Boerke, Marquette 2012 magna cum laude, has joined Michael Best & Friedrich LLP, Milwaukee, in the transactional practice group.

    JoAnne Breese-JaeckJoAnne Breese-Jaeck, U.W. 1993 cum laude, has joined Northwestern Mutual as assistant general counsel on the insurance products and operations teams. She previously was a shareholder at Hostak, Henzl & Bichler S.C.

    Bud Bobber, Northwestern 1987, has been appointed vice chair of Foley & Lardner LLP’s labor and employment practice. He is with the firm’s Milwaukee office. Naikang Tsao, NYU 1992, has been appointed chair of the litigation practice in the firm’s Madison office.

    Larry R. Jakubowski, Marquette 1984, has been selected director for the Civil Rights Bureau of the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development’s Equal Rights Division.

    Robert J. Lawton Jr., Hamline 2004 cum laude, has joined Henningson & Snoxell Ltd., Maple Grove, Minn., focusing on estate planning and elder law.

    Melissa K. Scanlan, U.C. Berkeley 1999, has become associate dean and director of the Environmental Law Center at Vermont Law School, South Royalton, Vt. She previously taught at the U.W. Law School and the U.W.-Milwaukee School of Freshwater Sciences.

    The Hon. Lisa K. Stark, U.W. 1982, has been appointed to the Wisconsin Court of Appeals. She previously was an Eau Claire County Circuit Court judge.

    Nicolas E. Toft, Michigan 2003, has been appointed director of child support services and deputy attorney general for the U.S. Territory of Guam.

    Thomas R. Vance, Brooklyn 2007 cum laude, has joined the Milwaukee office of Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek S.C. in the corporate practice group.

    Amy Vandamme, U.W. 1998, has joined Fiserv Inc., Brookfield, as vice president and assistant general counsel and manages the commercial and intellectual property litigation group. She previously was a partner with Michael Best & Friedrich LLP.
