Vote by April 25 in State Bar Elections
April 16, 2014 – The State Bar will elect a president-elect, secretary, Judicial Council representative, district governors, and division officers this month. Ballots, which were mailed last week, must be received by the Bar no later than April 25. The winning candidates will assume their offices on July 1.
Stellar Cast of Stars to be Honored at Annual Meeting & Conference in June
April 16, 2014 – The Member Recognition Celebration at the 2014 State Bar Annual Meeting & Conference is brimming with awards and is free to all conference attendees. The celebration, which recognizes attorneys, judges, law firms, organizations, and law students who have made outstanding pro bono, public service, or public education contributions in 2013, will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m., on Thursday, June 26, at Lake Geneva.

Time is Running Out, 200 Volunteers Still Needed for National Mock Trial
The State Bar of Wisconsin National Mock Trial planning team is calling on attorneys, judges and experienced teachers and coaches from around the state to step up to the bench and volunteer to serve on a judging panel during the 2014 National High School Mock Trial Championship on May 9 and 10 in Madison.
Court Acts on Dues Structure Change, Governance Removal Petitions
A petition submitted by the State Bar of Wisconsin would have extended dues relief for young lawyers, and changed the dues structure for “emeritus” members. Another petition would have created procedures for removing State Bar governors and officers. Both petitions may be resubmitted by the State Bar to reflect concerns addressed by the court.
