Feb. 17, 2016 – Legal legend Paul Clement and political insider Amy Walter are the plenary speakers at the State Bar of Wisconsin 2016 Annual Meeting & Conference (AMC) in Green Bay, June 16-17.
A Wisconsin native and State Bar of Wisconsin member, Clement served as the U.S. Solicitor General from 2005-2008, argued many key cases in lower courts involving challenges to the war on terrorism, and is currently a law professor at Georgetown University. Clement will speak at the opening plenary session Thursday, June 16, giving a firsthand account of the decisions and judicial philosophies of the Supreme Court under Chief Justice John G. Roberts – including major rulings on gun control, affirmative action, campaign finance regulation, abortion, capital punishment, gay rights, and criminal sentencing.
