    Law Foundation Grants Available for Charitable and Law-related Educational Programs: Applications Due April 3

    Up to $2,000 available for programs to help public understanding of the legal system.

    Feb. 18, 2015 – The Wisconsin Law Foundation is seeking applications for grants to promote greater public understand of the law or improve the administration of justice in Wisconsin.

    The Truman Q. McNulty Grants offer up to $2,000 to charitable or educational programs or projects for the 2015-2016 fiscal year.

    Programs or projects are sought that directly affect Wisconsin residents – applications must be submitted no later than April 3.

    Educating the Public

    Past grants supported projects to educate the public on health care reform, guide pro se litigants through bankruptcy issues, assist Spanish-speaking residents understand family court issues, and provide prevention and intervention assistance to first-time juvenile offenders in teen court programs.

    “The Wisconsin Law Foundation is proud to bestow grants to programs that truly epitomize the basis upon which the foundation is built – to promote the public’s understanding of the law and to improve the administration of justice,” says Foundation President Mark Pennow. “We commend these organizations for their efforts.”

    A fully chartered 501(c)3 organization, the Foundation sponsors State Bar public education programs and initiatives, including the Wisconsin State High School Mock Trial Tournament and Our Courts Program through the general grants fund, and administers statewide grants through the Truman Q. McNulty Grants.

    How to Apply

    Grant applications must be received by 5 p.m. April 3, 2015. Applicants will be notified of the Foundation’s grant award decisions by May 31, 2015.
