Don't miss official notices impacting your practice, keep your address current

April 18, 2012 – Did you know that the State Bar of Wisconsin is the official record keeper for agencies that regulate the practice of law in Wisconsin? That means, when your State Bar member record is incorrect, it could affect receipt of notices related to your State Bar membership status, CLE compliance, or other issues impacting your license to practice law.

Updating your address and other contact information also updates your listing in the print Wisconsin Lawyer Directory and your listing on WisBar® Lawyer Search. Both resources are used by lawyers, courts, and the public to connect with you.

    Updates are quick and easy

Maintaining your information with the State Bar not only ensures you receive your information in a timely fashion, it also allows you to comply with SCR 10.03. SCR 10.03 requires Wisconsin-licensed lawyers to inform the State Bar when their office addresses changes.

To verify the accuracy of your listing now, search for your name on WisBar’s Lawyer Search. If you need to make any changes, select “Listing incorrect?” and log in to myStateBar. To make changes by phone, call Customer Service at (608) 257-3838 or (800) 728-7788.

Never logged into WisBar? The first time you log in, your user name is your email address or your State Bar membership number. Your password is the first four letters of your last name and your date of birth (smit07061955). Be sure to verify or add your email address to your listing.
