Dec. 7, 2011 – Since its inception in 1983, the Wisconsin High School Mock Trial Program has brought our legal system to life for thousands of students. Using facts and case materials developed by State Bar of Wisconsin members, students gain a deeper understanding of the judicial process as they develop their arguments and present their cases.

The teams, which compete at the regional, state, and national levels, follow the rules and structure of a typical court trial. They argue the case before three-person panels of judges, composed of volunteer attorneys and judges, at the regional and state semi-final levels in February and March. The state finals will be judged by Wisconsin Supreme Court justices on March 12 and the winner at that level will represent Wisconsin at the 2012 National High School Mock Trial Championship in Albuquerque, N.M., in May.

Mock Trial is a well-established program that works because of the ongoing support and participation of hundreds of State Bar members annually.
