March 17, 2010 –The Wisconsin Lawyers’ Assistance Corporation (LAC) will hold its annual meeting of the Board of Directors Monday, March 27, from 12 to 12:30 p.m., at the State Bar Center in Madison. The Board of Directors will transact such business as may be properly brought before the meeting. The meeting is open to any interested State Bar members.
The LAC was created by SCR Chapter 12 Client Protection. The Articles of Incorporation of the LAC were filed with the Wisconsin Secretary of State April 7, 1994. SCR 12:02 (6) states that trustee attorneys appointed under sub.(1)(a) shall be an employee of the LAC, a nonstick, nonprofit corporation created by the state bar of Wisconsin.
