All seminars, presented in two sessions, will begin with a hot breakfast at 8:15 a.m. and conclude at 11:15 a.m.

The first session at the Racine seminar, Safe Lawyering: Protecting Yourself Against Ethical, Emotional and Professional Disasters, will explore the personality of lawyers, how they differ from the general population, and what lawyers need to protect themselves from meltdown. Attendees will learn steps for disaster prevention or rebuilding following chaos. State Bar Wisconsin Lawyers Assistance Program (WisLAP) coordinator Linda Albert is the speaker.

The first session at the Platteville seminar, Twelve Things (at least) Every Attorney Should Know About Foreclosure Defenses, will explore the ins and outs of foreclosure defense. From “It’s almost never too late to save the home,” to “Debt collectors say the darnedest things,” you’ll learn a dozen strategies to help your clients keep their homes from J. David Krekeler a principal shareholder with Krekeler Strother S.C., Madison, which devotes a substantial portion of its practice to debt-relief matters.

The second session of both seminars, Safe Computing: Protecting Your Practice and Clients from Digital Disaster, will explore the perils of metadata, inadequate backup, incomplete security, and failure to protect confidential information. State Bar Practice Management Advisor Nerino Petro is the presenter for this session.

Tuition is $40 for members and $50 for nonmembers. The programs will be submitted for up to 2.0 CLE. The Racine program will be submitted for up to 2 EPR credits. The Platteville program will be submitted for up to 1 EPR credit.
