Bench and Bar Committee Judicial Achievement Awards

The 2009 Judicial Achievement Awards nomination search is now underway. The Jurist Award Subcommittee of the Bench and Bar Committee is seeking nominations for its 2009 Judge of the Year Award and for its 2009 Jurist Lifetime Achievement Award. Nomination deadline is January 15, 2010.  The Bench and Bar Committee will meet on February 5, 2010 to consider the nominations.

The Judge of the Year Award honors an outstanding circuit court trial judge who has exceeded the call of judicial office and who has improved the judicial system in some fashion during the past year.

The Jurist Lifetime Achievement Award honors a person who has served as a circuit court judge and who has exhibited long-term excellence as a judge. To be eligible, the candidate must have served more than one (1) full term as a circuit court judge.

The Judicial Achievement Awards will be presented in Spring 2010, date and location to be determined.
