  • Wisconsin Law Foundation--Board of Directors
    The Wisconsin Law Foundation is led by a Board of Directors made up of nine past presidents of the State Bar of Wisconsin and nine members of the Law Foundation all nominated and elected by the members of the Foundation. In addition to the elected members, ex-officio members include the Immediate Past President of the State Bar, the Executive Director of the State Bar, the Immediate Past President of the Law Foundation and a representative from the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

    Also represented on the Foundation Board are representatives nominated from the divisions of the State Bar including Government Lawyers Division, Young Lawyers Division, Senior Lawyers Division and the Non-resident Lawyers Division.

    The President leads the Board with assistance from officers including the first and second vice presidents, a secretary and a treasurer.

    • Executive Committee
      The Executive Committee shall consist of thirteen directors, including the president, two vice presidents, treasurer, secretary, the past president of the corporation, the Young Lawyers Division representative, and six directors (three of whom shall be past presidents and three of whom shall be directors elected by the regular membership) nominated by the president with approval by the Board of Directors.

    • Awards Committee
      The Awards Committee shall consist of directors and members appointed by the President with the approval of the Executive Committee, who shall serve until the next regular annual meeting of the Board and until their successors are appointed.

      The Awards Committee shall solicit nominations for and select persons to recommend for receiving awards to the Board of Directors for approval.

    • Finance Committee
      The Finance Committee shall consist of the Treasurer, directors and members appointed by the President with the approval of the Executive Committee, who shall serve until the next regular annual meeting of the Board and their successors are appointed.

      This committee will lead efforts to set budgets for the Foundation, work with the Finance Department of the State Bar monitoring Foundation financial performance and provide timely reports at meetings of the Foundation Board on the Foundation's financial status.

    • Funds Development/Membership Committee
      The Funds Development/Membership Committee shall consist of directors and members appointed by the president with the approval of the Executive Committee, who shall serve until the next regular annual meeting of the Board and until their successors are appointed.

      The Funds Development/Membership Committee shall consider and recommend to the Board ways of increasing membership in the Foundation and positioning the organization as a charity of choice among lawyers of Wisconsin. In this role the committee shall develop, implement and revise as necessary policies and procedures for soliciting members and gaining charitable support from all State Bar members and general supporters of Foundation beneficiaries.

    • Grants Committee
      The Grants Committee shall consist of directors and members appointed by the president with the approval of the Executive Committee, who shall serve until the next regular annual meeting of the Board and until their successors are appointed.

      The Grants Committee shall develop, implement, monitor and revise as necessary the policies and procedures used by this corporation to award grants, and shall consider grant requests and recommend awards to the Board of Directors for approval.

    • Nominating Committee
      The Nomination Committee shall consider and recommend candidates to the president and Board of Directors for election as officers and members of the Board of Directors of this corporation, and shall provide such orientation and training as is necessary to enable nominees to serve in such capacity upon their respective elections.

    • Legal History Committee
      The History Committee shall develop for approval by the Board of Directors and implement any projects involving the history of the profession, including that of the judiciary, corporation, and the State Bar in Wisconsin.
