Introduction to WisLAP: The Wisconsin Lawyers
Assistance Program (WisLAP) provides meaningful and confidential
assistance to law students, lawyers, judges, and their families in
coping with symptoms that may be related to the stress of studying
and/or practicing law. Studies have shown that the early manifestation
of alcohol, substance, and gambling abuse, depression, suicide, eating
disorders along with a variety of mental and physical health problems
occur during law school. Professional staff and trained volunteer
lawyers are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to help with these
difficulties.
