Law-related Education

Court with Class

Court with Class provides high school teachers with the opportunity to include a Wisconsin Supreme Court visit as part of their classroom activities.

Through this program, high school classes:

  • See the Wisconsin Supreme Court
  • Observe oral arguments before the Court
  • Meet one of the justices for a Q&A session

Following the oral argument, students have the opportunity to meet with one of the justices to discuss general legal issues. Prior to the visit, teachers are provided with a case synopsis of the argument they will be watching. Many teachers also expand this visit to include meeting with their legislators and touring the capital.

The Public Education Committee of the State Bar of Wisconsin developed Court with Class in conjunction with the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

SPACE FOR THIS PROGRAM IS EXTREMELY LIMITED, PLEASE REGISTER EARLY.

Mock Trial: “I liked having the students handle an abbreviated version of a real-life case.  Too much of what people know about law and litigation is from the nonsense on TV and in the movies.”   - Mock Trial attorney coach
