Scope of proposed electronic discovery rules debated at public hearing
Feb. 3, 2010 — Some say a petition for new rules governing discovery of electronically stored information is insufficient to tackle this emerging area of law. A debate over its merits occurred during a Jan. 21 public hearing at the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

Justices to consider defendant's use of prior false allegations of sexual assault
Feb. 3, 2010 — After a girl accused her biological father of sexual assault, she claimed that the man who adopted her also improperly touched her. The state hopes this case will set a new standard for establishing falsity of prior allegations because Wisconsin presently has one of the laxest standards in the nation.
State Bar elections: Candidates make pitch for president-elect seat
Feb. 3, 2010 — State Bar president-elect candidates Jay A. Urban, Margaret W. Hickey, Sarah (Sally) Fry Bruch, and James M. Brennan appear on video to explain what they hope to accomplish when they become State Bar president, after serving a year as president-elect. State Bar members will vote by mailed ballots in April.
