How to place an announcement in In the News

If you are a State Bar member and you’ve moved, become a partner, hired an associate, taken on a partner, or received a promotion or an award, we’d like to hear from you. Talks, speeches (unless they are of national stature), honors bestowed by other publications, political announcements, and so on are not accepted as announcements. Notices are printed at no cost, must be submitted in writing, and are subject to editing. Items are printed as space is available. Contact In the News at (608) 250-6139, if you have questions.

Photo placement: Submit a professional quality photo with your announcement. Photos will be used first come–first placed, space permitting, and will not be returned ($30 each). If the photo is used, the State Bar will issue an invoice. Clearly identify the subject: attach a label with the subject’s name and address on the back of the photo (do not write on either side of the photo). Group photos are not accepted.

Deadline for announcements is the first of the month preceding publication. For example, to place an announcement in the April issue, it must be received by the State Bar before March 1. Send or email your announcement to: In the News, P.O. Box 7158, Madison, WI 53707-7158. Include your State Bar membership number.

Discounted ad rates are available to State Bar members for display announcements. Contact Karen Richter at (608) 825-3902 for more information.
