This typically occurs on computers that do not have Visual Basic 6 installed on them (computers that do not have Microsoft Word or Microsoft Office installed may have never installed this component). MicroSoft has a distribution pack available on their website that will install VB 6.0 and correct this issue
This is because your CD Rom drive is labeled as something other than "D". To install the forms manually insert the CD, open My Documents or Windows Explorer, make note of which drive the CD is in, then Right-Click that drive and choose Explore. Now you will see the contents of the CD.
If this is your first time installing the forms on CD, then Right-Click and Copy the sbw_forms directory. Then browse to your C: drive and Right-Click and Paste. You should now see the sbw_forms\'book name' directory.
If you have installed previous Forms on CD books to your C: drive, then follow the steps above to see the contents of the CD, then Double-Click to open the sbw_forms directory on the CD to see just the 'book name'. Then Right-Click on this directory and choose Copy. Then browse to your C: drive, find the sbw_forms directory, Right-Click on the sbw_forms directory and choose Paste. You may now see multiple books under the sbw_forms directory on your C: drive.
A converter may be needed for the forms to open in Microsoft Word You may need to install a converter from your Microsoft Word CD-ROM in order to open the files. If you get a message similar to "MS Word can't import the specified format. This feature is not currently installed. Would you like to install it now? Yes. No.", you should insert your Microsoft Word CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive and click on "Yes" and Microsoft Word will take care of the rest. This is a one-time only install.
If you have trouble finding the document files in Microsoft Word If you have Word open, and you cannot see the forms, please follow these steps: From the File menu in Word, select Open. Select the drive the forms were installed on and from the Look in: drop-down menu at the top of the dialog box, double-click on the \sbw_forms\ 'book name'directory. A list of files should appear. If the list does not appear, look at the bottom of the dialog box and select All Files (*.*) from the Files of type: drop-down menu. The list of files should now appear, and you can double-click on any file to open it.
If your computer doesn't recognize the .frm extension When this happens you will get a screen that says "Windows cannot open this file" and will ask you what you want to do. You should then select "Select the program from a list" and click on OK. You'll get a new screen that asks you to choose the program you want to use to open the file. You should select the word processing program you use from the list and click on the empty square immediately before the language "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file" so that a checkmark shows up. Click on OK. Your computer will now associate .frm files with your word processing program.
Please note that the following programs use an .frm extension. If you use one of these programs, you should not check the box immediately before the language "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file" as mentioned above.
