There are five steps to placing your ad online. The following outlines each of these steps.
Step One:
Include name and contact information for the person who should be contacted with any questions. This information will not appear in your ad.
Step Two:
Select the heading under which your ad will appear. If you don't see a broad category that fits, contact Karen Richter, (800) 811-2230, or (608) 825-3902.
Site visitors will initially view a list of titles, so be as descriptive as possible to capture their attention. Titles can be up to 100 characters in length and should include a geographic location. Do not use ALL CAPS.
Include the details of your ad here. There is no limit to the number of words. Don't forget to include contact information. Any email and/or Web site addresses in your ad will be linked at no charge. All ads are edited and formatted by the State Bar to a consistent style. Text in all caps, bold, italics, underline, or any other special effects will be removed prior to posting. You may create a new paragraph at any point by pressing the "Enter" key on your keyboard.
Ads will appear online upon approval, usually within 24 hours if received during regular business hours. You may enter a later start date if desired.

To do so, click on the button at the top of any of the Classified Ads page called "Renew/cancel ad" or the "Renew/cancel ad" link on the left side navigation. You can extend your ad by clicking the "Renew" button (this adds the item to your shopping cart). End the ad by clicking the "Expire" button. You also will be able to view any ads that you have purchased in the past. Payment for ads cancelled prior to expiration will not be refunded.
Upload your logo or another image by pressing the "Browse" button, select the image from your files that you would like to include, and press "OK." Logos and/or images should be no wider than 150 pixels. There is no additional charge for a logo or image in your ad. (How to include a logo or image.)
Step Three:
Preview your ad and make sure contact information is correct. If the ad is not correct, use your browser's "Back" button to make any changes.
Step Four:
Review the duration of the ad, expressed in weeks, and price before you complete your order.
Step Five:
Proceed to checkout, where you will be asked for your credit card information, and complete your order.
